The EastBayRI app is now available on iOS and Android devices.
East Bay Newspapers wanted to have an app made for their news content and I took on the project. I was able to use their current WordPress CMS to power the app and AppPresser to convert their content into an app. Using AppPresser allowed me to use my web development skills to create an app with CSS, javascript and PHP scripting.
As with developing any app, tweaks needed to be made before Apple approved it for the App Store. Unlike Google’s “we-except-anything” policy, Apple is very strict on app performance and content which makes for a better app.
The EastBayRI app brings local news and information from the East Bay area of RI and Southern Mass to the user in a clean, easy-to-use way. Users can share stories, make comments, submit content and get push notifications to their devices.
It’s free and available for all iOS and Android powered devices. You can download the EastBayRI app for iOS devices on the App Store or on the Google Play store.
